The terms of influencers, does it speak to you?
Youth are always very active on social media and follow a load of profils without actually knowing the people. Among our world, we can find different types of influencers: singers, top athelets, actors or futhermore, people with an attracting physical or fortune that make young people dream by exposing their dream life.
Young people love to follow these people’s lives through pictures or videos posted on social media. The problem is that the image and the facility of this perfect life that the influencers radiate isn’t reality and most young people tend to forget that.
An influencers life is to sell this dream life even if these goals are possible to reach but for that, you need to stand out and to strive on your goals; this is where the contradiction comes in with the simple life that the influencers send back.
In the episode “Nosedive” from the series Black Mirror, we are introduced to a young woman that envies the life of an influencer and tries to get closer to them to be able to increase her notoriety. However, she notices quickly that it’s a fake and selfish environnement.
I am not making a generality but in a fictive life, the goal of an influencer is to have as many followers as possible and to boost their visibility, whatever it takes.
